Black Lives Matter.

It IS NOT ENOUGH…

To simply condemn racism, we must actively pursue antiracism. We promise to ourselves and to our community that Eclectic Music will employ antiracist policies and principles with every action we take, now and in the future.

We take a firm stance on how we care for our students, teachers, staff, and community. Music is the universal language, and we have no room for hate, bigotry, or unsafe spaces in our studios or in our hearts.

But actions speak louder than words.

As a music school, we have the unique opportunity to set an example by eliminating songs with racist and colonial connotations and educating the publishers we work with to change the standard.

We have the opportunity to decolonize the music classroom and teach our students about the incredible influence of black artists on virtually all American styles of music.

We have the opportunity to lift up the voices of Black, Brown and Indigenous artists, in hiring and in what we amplify as an organization.

We have the opportunity to work towards dismantling white supremacy in music education.

We stand against discrimination, prejudice, and police brutality.

We stand for justice, equity, and inclusivity.

We choose to convert opportunities into action.

Action that speaks louder than our words.
